Why the GFP-500 is the complete solution for trailer filling
Modern hydrogen trailer filling requires a system that can handle different pressure levels, trailer types, vessel configurations and trailer sizes automatically and safely. For decentralized hydrogen production plants, filling stations must also manage third-party trailers, driver access, trailer certification, hydrogen quality, leak checks and delivery documentation without requiring a permanent operator on site.
The GFP-500 brings these requirements together in one coordinated solution. It consists of an operating terminal, a gas distribution system and gas filling/import panels. The system supports driver and trailer identification, trailer-specific filling protocols, automatic leak checks, hose purging, calibrated mass flow measurement and guided operating procedures.
With up to 530 bar maximum pressure, up to four pressure levels and optional pre-cooling for Type IV trailers, the GFP-500 is designed for compatibility with varied trailer fleets. Optional hydrogen quality control, customer ERP integration and a local printer support digital process control, ADR-compliant delivery documentation and transparent operation through to invoicing.
This makes the GFP-500 a complete solution for autonomous hydrogen trailer filling, combining hardware, software, safety functions and process integration in one system.

The GFP-500 is designed for safe, efficient and scalable hydrogen trailer filling.
Maximum safety and flexibility
The GFP-500 uses trailer identification, trailer-specific filling protocols and guided operating procedures. This helps prevents human errors and enables safe operation with different trailer types, sizes and pressure levels.
Autonomous operation
Drivers identify themselves at the operating terminal, connect the trailer and start the process. Afterwards, the GFP-500 automatically performs the leak test, hose purging, filling, and quality control, and sends status updates to the operator.
Digital process integration
The GFP-500 is connected to the customer’s ERP system and a local printer. This supports ADR-compliant delivery documentation, billing, and transparent process data from filling through to pickup.
Trailer filling process
Trailer filling with the GFP-500 is designed as a fully automatic, step-by-step process. The driver identifies himself at the operating terminal, selects the required operation and parks the trailer at the assigned loading bay.
After the trailer is connected, the system identifies the trailer using its database and selects the appropriate filling protocol based on the trailer and ambient conditions. Grounding, leak tightness and hose purging are checked automatically before the trailer is queued and filled when the production plant is ready.
During filling, regular leak tests and inline hydrogen quality control are performed. Once the trailer is full, the driver and operator receive a message. For pickup, the system guides the driver through depressurization, disconnection and delivery note printout before the trailer leaves the bay.

What pressure levels does the GFP-500 support?
The GFP-500 supports up to four pressure levels (200 bar, 300 bar, 380 bar, 500 bar) and is designed for filling trailers with a maximum pressure of up to 530 bar. This allows the pressure levels of the individual columns to be adapted to new market requirements at a later stage.
How does the GFP-500 improve safety?
Safety is supported through trailer identification, guided operating procedures, automatic checks such as grounding, leak tightness and hose purging, as well as regular leak tests during filling.
Can the GFP-500 handle different trailer fleets?
Yes, modern trailer filling requires compatibility with different pressure levels, trailer types, vessel sizes, geometries and manufacturers. The GFP-500 uses trailer identification and trailer-specific filling protocols to support this flexibility.
How are documentation and invoicing handled?
The system can be connected to the customer ERP and a local printer. The driver receives an ADR-compliant delivery note stating hydrogen mass, pressure and hydrogen quality, while the operator ERP receives information for invoicing and data analysis.
Is the hydrogen quality measured and documented?
The GFP-500 includes optional, calibrated hydrogen quality measurement. It measures and documents all relevant impurities and ensures compliance with ISO 14687.
How is IT security ensured?
The GFP-500 communicates with the higher-level control system of the hydrogen plant via ProfiNet. In doing so, all requirements of IEC 61511, NIS 2, and the CRA are fulfilled.
